Sprouting and Hummus…A Flour Children Cooking Class

I am sad that I couldn’t make it to Saturday’s Flour Children class at the Lazy Hummingbird Cafe as I was home in Chicago for some family stuff- but I am so HAPPY that the class went well!

Cas lead a class of 9 in making 3 kinds of hummus, 2 of which the kids dreamt up themselves, and prepped lots of veggies and breads to dip.The final 3 hummus creations? Roasted Garlic, Red Pepper, and Cilantro Jalepeno.

Cas saved me a little taste of each, and Oh. My. God. These Flour Children are genius! The hummuses were seriously some of the best I ever had!Cas also dedicated the early part of the class to learning to sprout. The kids went home with a little chick pea to sprout in its little container, and with gained knowledge on the MANY benefits of sprouting.Yes! Flour Children! Getting back to our culinary roots… So.
