Sprouting and Hummus…A Flour Children Cooking Class

By Jamie • Uncategorized • 30 Apr 2012

I am sad that I couldn’t make it to Saturday’s Flour Children class at the Lazy Hummingbird Cafe as I was home in Chicago for some family stuff- but I am so HAPPY that the class went well!

Cas lead a class of 9 in making 3 kinds of hummus, 2 of which the kids dreamt up themselves, and prepped lots of veggies and breads to dip.The final 3 hummus creations? Roasted Garlic, Red Pepper, and Cilantro Jalepeno.

Cas saved me a little taste of each, and Oh. My. God. These Flour Children are genius! The hummuses were seriously some of the best I ever had!Cas also dedicated the early part of the class to learning to sprout. The kids went home with a little chick pea to sprout in its little container, and with gained knowledge on the MANY benefits of sprouting.Yes! Flour Children! Getting back to our culinary roots… So. Much. Fun.Cannot wait for all of the future classes. Check here for times and locations!
